Brand Burnett, tournament chair of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, made these remarks in an interview with Seoul Economic Daily at the site of THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson on May 20 local time. “We are always amazed by CJ Group’s interest and passion for delivering a perfect tournament,” he said.
The Salesmanship Club of Dallas is the organization that hosts THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Founded in 1920, the club began hosting the tournament in 1968 in partnership with Byron Nelson, a legendary golfer from Dallas. Its partnership with CJ Group began with the 2023 tournament and will continue through 2033. Members handle nearly everything that happens on the tournament course, from setting up installations to preparing meals for staff. Throughout the venue, members can easily be spotted helping run the tournament while wearing the club’s signature “red pants.” “The tournament lasts a week, but we prepare for it all year round,” Burnett said. “During the tournament, not only the roughly 350 club members but also their families participate as volunteers.”
